In the late 1890s, Heinrich Dimer married Topsy Whitehand, a Wudjari Noongar woman, and together they built a family of nine children. In 1896, Henry and Topsy secured a lease on a property north of Esperance, which they named Nanambinia. That same year, Henry won a government contract to transport telegraph poles using camel teams, marking the beginning of their successful ventures in the region.
